James Brown Rich Moisture Conditioner

Hair care this time, folks!

I picked this conditioner up on a complete whim, I was scanning the shelves and spotted this one, the packaging caught my eye, I love how even though it is completely simplistic it looks really elegant and classy.

Manic Monday #3

Another crazy day in the office means another Monday that has disappeared in a blur and I am here writing Manic Monday number 3!

I am writing this whilst at a loss of what to actually

A bit of a Boots haul! (Oops!)

I ventured in to Boots on Saturday and broke my spending record. I thought I'd treat myself as I'd been in to a few shops but hadn't seen anything else I wanted and I had a few products on my wish list, it was the first pay day of the year so I decided to scratch that itch.

Here we

Take The Day Off by Clinique

So, I've been deliberating whether or not to review this, as I said in my introduction I wanted to base my blog around affordable beauty, skincare, haircare products from the high street.

I think Clinique as a brand are right on the cusp

Manic Monday #2

Yet again I had another crazy Monday in the work place, as I dreamed of the clock turning 5.30, which it did at alarming rate might I add, I wanted nothing more than to come home and add a little something to my work-in-progress of a book.

At the moment, I feel inexplicably happy, more often than not I am in a good mood, I love feeling like this, I

Manic Monday #1

I don't know what it is with my place of work and Mondays but I don't think I have had a quiet Monday since I have been there, it's not necessarily a bad thing, it makes the day fly by and before I know it, it's Monday evening.

I always like to have a good cleanse on Mondays to give myself

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector

...phew, long title!

I have recently rekindled my love with The Body Shop, the boyfriend bought me a lovely Strawberry Gift Set for Christmas which sparked my interest in the shop again. I used to be obsessed with their products when I was a teen, however constantly being followed around the shop by the shop assistants like I was a criminal eventually put me off going in there.

Now, I am a older, I don't look like a thief, hurrah, the shop assistants now smile and chit chat, it is safe to venture back in to the waters and peruse to my hearts content!

Anyway, Adele, on with the blog -

I was on the market for a new hand cream, I wanted something more

Throwback Thursday!

I'm not feeling too fancy fresh, I have this wretched flu virus that has been lingering around my house for weeks now and it's finally made its way to me.

So I've been loading up on liquids,

Super Facialist Facial Scrub by Una Brennan

I have been really loving this facial scrub lately.

I love this facial scrub, it’s wonderful.

Back story time - I’d been using rubbish scrub, in my opinion, of course,

Topshop Lip Liner

This is my first venture in to Topshop makeup. I've heard a lot of good things about it and have been meaning to try some out for a long time.

Of all the lovely selection, I, of course, went for a lip pencil...

As you do.

But, boy am I glad that I did!

I've never really been a lip pencil kinda gal, myself, but as it was £5 and I thought the colour looked particularly sumptuous and wintery, I thought 'why not?'

The packaging to the Topshop makeup is definitely right up my street, it's distressed, it looks unfinished, it looks handmade and hand drawn, which is something I love in the design world and love it when it is translated really well in to packaging.

I decided on Deception, there were a few colours in the collection, for some reason the website only lists two colours, but there was definitely more in the store that I was in. This one I chose instantly jumped out to me, it's a beautiful deep red with burgundy undertones, perfect for the winter months.

The texture of this is really nice, it's very soft and pliable, it reminds me of a kohl eyeliner, which makes it really easy to blend and apply. I bought this with the intention of wearing it all over my lips as a matte lip colour and the texture of the pencil definitely helps achieve a flawless finish.

It is long lasting when applied all over the lips, I wore it on New Years Eve, after applying it, blotting it, blending it, reapplying, rinse-repeat until I had the desired effect it lasted a very long time. I'm sure the way I applied it had something to do with it as I layered it quite a lot, but I think it says something when a £5 lip liner can last you a night as a lipstick.

The colour can be really built up by layering, on NYE I went quite dramatic and built it up to a vampy red colour. I've also worn it in the day, I just lined the outer edges of my lips and blended it inwards and went for a subtle ombre look.

I think this is quite a lengthy review about a lip pencil...but I really like it, it's been in my handbag ever since I bought it and I've barely used anything else since.

Peruse the Topshop range, see if there's something you like and try it out! It seems really worth the money. I will certainly be buying more products from them in the near future...(by near future I mean tomorrow.)

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

This foundation is beauitful.

Simple as that really.

I absolute adore it, it has the perfect amount of coverage for my personal preference, it is a light coverage, (I still like to look human when I have make-up on) but it covers all the things you'd wish to hide! One pump of foundation and I'm good to go.
I use the shade No 51 - Light Vanilla, this is a near perfect match to my skin tone, it's probably one of, if not the best suited to my skin out of the many foundations I have used before.

It is quite a yellowish tone, which is the perfect counter for the redness that I have always had throughout my life. (It has in the past been the bane of my life, but that's a different story for a different day!)

It has a silky soft texture, it's really light almost water-like, but even softer. It glides on to the skin beautifully, blending in to the skin perfectly with either your fingers or a foundation brush. I think I may prefer to use my fingers to apply this foundation as I feel like I can flawless finish and distribute it evenly over my skin.

(*No idea what is wrong with this image, it does not look grainy on my PC...) I wish you could feel how soft the texture is from this picture, one day maybe!

It's practically weightless on the skin, I still feel like my skin can breathe throughout the day, which I love while wearing a foundation. I can't think of anything worse with a foundation than a cakey, claggy foundation blocking up your pores.

I do have to say, this is perfect for my skin type, which is normal to dry, however I don't think this would be a good foundation for people with oily skin as it is so silky that it moves around the corners (I am unsure if this is the worse I'm looking for!) of my nose, which is where I am ever so slightly oily, I do powder over those parts so it doesn't move during the day.

The smell is another big plus of this, it's beautifully scented, it smells creamy, slightly vanilla and nutty all at the same time. It smells like some amazing pudding that I would love to eat, it's just a shame that it's a foundation...

This is a truly wonderful product, I'm sure we'll have a long and lovely relationship.

One thing with Bourjois and their foundations is they don't have a broad colour range, which is something that they could work on. If your skin tone happens to fall under their range it would be well worth your time to try out this foundation.

Try it for yourself and see!

Photo of the day!

I've decided to attempt 'Photo of the Day' for this year on my Instagram.

Which for all intents and purposes is @deleegram

I decided to do this about five minutes ago, I'm spontaneous...what can I say?

I've already uploaded #1, so if you're interested in following my life via the wonder of Instagram for this year hit the follow button on my profile!

I'm going to attempt to at least be creative and put interesting things on there, but it is day 1 so no promises quite yet!

I hope you're enjoying your first day of 2014 whatever you may be doing!
