As I have previously mentioned in posts, I am currently in the midst of writing a book. For the moment it is purely a hobby that I love, if it ever comes to a point in my life where it becomes more, then that would be incredible. (And a massive tick on the bucket list.)
While I am away, in my hours of traveling and general R&R I thought it would be a great opportunity to get stuck in once again, as it has unfortunately fallen to the wayside for the past couple of months.
I have come up with a few masterful ways of bringing myself back up to speed with where I have got to and how best to proceed.
- Buy new Moleskine notebook...(not necessary, but will definitely help. Found it for a bargain £7.00 in TK Maxx)
- Refresh my memory to where I had got to
- Re-read the past few chapters or even from the beginning
- Revisit the characters, I have a notebook filled with notes about the characters to help me form them in my mind
- On that note; revisit the world that it is all created in. I.e - my brain
- Do some writing exercises, such as writing a short story or a few poems to get the juices flowing
- Lastly and most importantly...Stop procrastinating.
I'm suffer terribly with the procrastination affliction.
Do you have any tips for getting back in to the swing of things? How do you delve back in to hobbies after a considerable break?
Toodles!
