I listen to music. A lot. I am rarely without a bit of noise.
Lately I've been really listening to the lyrics. I've been reliving my youth
with some old school favourites such as The Killers, Bloc Party, The Album Leaf (not many lyrics in there, but still...) and have been listening to some newer favorites such as Hozier and The Neighbourhood.

And some lyrics have really been striking a chord with me, which generally happens when I feel a bit unsure about things, I tend to really listen to what I'm listening to.
You'll understand what I'm talking about if you're a regular music listener. I've really been thinking about what the writer of the song was thinking about or had gone through to write the lyric.
I wanted to share some of the ones that have been sticking with me and I've been thinking about.
"Save some face, you know you've only got one." - The Killers, Smile Like You Mean It.
"Free and young and we can feel none of it." - Hozier, Sedated.
"When I wake up I’m afraid, somebody else might take my place.
When I wake up I’m afraid, somebody else might end up being me." - The Neighbourhood, Afraid.

"Babe, there's something tragic about you, something so magic about you. Don't you agree?" Hozier - From Eden.
"We are the reckless, we are the wild youth. Chasing visions of our futures." Daughter - Youth
"I think I should be a little more confident. In myself, in my skin." Daughter - Home
Do you have any favourite lyrics? What do they mean to you?
I have really been considering having The Killers - Smile Like You Mean It as a tattoo, I've always loved the lyric and it has always stuck with me.I think it's an important life lesson to remember.
