Wishlist Wednesday

I've been wanting to revamp my make-up brushes for a while, I have a fair few Real Techniques, Models Own and a few other brands in my collection.
Recently I've wanted to splurge a little on some Zoeva brushes,

Things I love #2

I'm not really sure what to call this 'series' of posts, it's really a collaboration of the things that I love and my ever growing love and addiction to Pinterest.

This week - Notebooks

(A few of my own!)

Now I realise I probably sound a bit cray by setting aside a whole post for just notebooks, but seriously, it's an addiction, I have so many notebooks that I see, buy, then never use because I don't want to spoil them or scribble in them when I make mistakes.

But hear me out - I love notebooks of all shapes, sizes, colours and materials and I was thinking about some DIY notebooks. One of my own particular favourites is my handmade one that I picked up at ComicCon (pictured - the one with the Phoenix) they can be found here - http://www.phoenixcopperart.com/ I was talking to the guy who makes them on his stand, he's so lovely and very talented! His stuff is definitely worth a look.

Muji offers great start off points for DIY notebooks, as the covers of these particular notebooks (yes, I do have one, in case you were wondering! Why would you not be?!)

Like the following pictures, you could take a pen to it and decorate the covers to make it a little more individual. They're so cheap and afforable, they're great for taking to school, university or even work!

Or if you're rather handy with the old crafts, these might be more within your skill range! I really like the binding on the second image, it works so well!

What do you think? Do you have a particular 'like' or 'love' that you're not quite sure why you love it so much, but you can't get enough of it? Yeah, notebooks are my 'love' like that...

Monday - Reflection

I wanted to do my usual Monday post, but I didn't want to do my usual sort of post because this doesn't deserve my lightheartedness.

I heard some incredibly sad news over the weekend; a guy that I used to go to Secondary School with died on Saturday.

It was out of the blue and sudden from what I've heard through my brother and friends. It's such a devastating time for his family and the people who surrounded him in his short life. The loss of anyone is hard on people, but I think it's especially difficult for a parent to lose a child at such a young age.

I wasn't particularly close with Will, we spoke probably a handful of times, but I still felt incredibly saddened when I heard the news. I think it shook me to realise that someone my age, that I knew and had shared some experiences with was no longer here and walking on this earth.

It opened my eyes a little to the fact that death will come when it comes, it doesn't matter who we are, how old we are or what we do.

It is an inevitable part of life.

I have taken a little piece of this with me and will always try to live my life how I want to live it. Try not to take things for granted and definitely will try to not sweat the small stuff.

I think that is all we can do, but it's a shame that it has taken the death of a peer of mine to make my realise. We definitely all take things for granted occasionally, something will be put in the mix to bring us back to earth with a bump.

I wish everyone well and hope that you have all had a lovely day.

Keep smiling.

Friday Feelin'!

It's Friday, that means one thing - it's the weekend!

I'm having a relaxing evening as I've had what felt like the longest week of my working life, there isn't a whole lot going on at the moment, I'd much rather be rushed off my feet than having to find things to do at work!

First Impressions - L'Oréal Volume Million Lashes Noir Excess

I'm going to start this one off differently...

So I was in Boots...no wait...that's my usual way to start. So shockingly enough, yet again I found myself in Boots, I know, again. Honestly I have a problem.

Manic Monday #10

Firstly -
Sorry for not posting last week, I wasn't too well, so spent most of my week in bed! But I'm back on form and am trying to make a conscious effort to get things done!

I was thinking over the weekend about 'things that I like', I wouldn't say there were a load of things that instantly  of things that sprung out at me, but I came to the conclusion that I like a lot of different, varied things.

I decided to go on Pinterest, have a little trawl through some of the things that I like and create a kind of 'scrapbook' of things that I find endearing or just inspiring.

This week - Interiors!
(I was going to do it all in one, but I got carried away...)

Sorry they're all just clumped in the middle, I can't seem to understand orientation of images on Blogger!
What do you think? Do you see any running themes?!
