Manic Monday #78

Happy Bank Holiday!
(It is nearly the end, but we can still celebrate...)
Every Monday should be a bank holiday, in my opinion, or we should at least class Monday mornings as the weekend, don't you think you could ease yourself in to the week so much better then?

I have had a very relaxed Monday and have been adding the final touches to my costume for my friends 'R' themed party, I'm going as Rikku from Final Fantasy, unfortunately things were left a little too late to order the costume, so I've strategically purchased clothes that I would actually wear post party and have spent a minimal amount on accessories so far.

Yesterday, Ben and I visited Dismaland in Weston-Super-Mare, the new 'Bemusement Park, exhibited in the abandoned Lido. It is a collective of artists who have created pieces to address consumerism, political ideas, evoke creativity and is overall, quite inspiring.

I want to do a full post about Dismaland so I won't go in to it too much today, but just enough to say that it was an eye opener and I did find the whole experience inspiring. I took load of pictures and got some really cool video clips as well, so want to organise them all for a proper post.

I am going to milk the rest of my holiday Monday by catching up with X-Factor, I am a recent Nick Grimshaw convert so am really looking forward to seeing what he adds to the mix.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, have any of you managed to get tickets to go to Dismaland? Or are you interested in the message portrayed by the exhibiton?

Manic Monday #77 - The Late Edition

http://img.picturequotes.com/2/16/15383/better-late-than-never-but-never-late-is-better-quote-1.jpg

I am sorry this is late, I'm writing this very quickly before my day actually starts! 2 minutes to go!

I wanted to write a post but when I got home I returned to a grumpy Ben and then the house seemed to be full of people.

Relaxed Monday evening...not quite.

The return to work was good, things have slowed down again considerably, which as you know, I find utterly mind numbing.

The home portion of my day was the trying part, as mentioned, Ben wasn't too happy (I shan't go in to detail) but it takes quite a lot to ruffle his feathers. A housemate of mine was rude with the first thing that he said when I opened the door for him (again, I shan't go in to why) and projected his bad day on to me, which I didn't appreciate and just generally had one of those evenings.

Currently now singing; Things, can only get better.

I best go and do some work!

Muggy Sunday

It's a day to slow down a bit, the constant motion and busy nature I envelope myself in takes a back seat today.

Allow yourself time to be quiet, to be stationary, to think, to not-do.

It feels taboo, but maybe it's necessary. At least for an hour or so before I get itchy feet again.

Manic Monday #76

I have finally had a bit of a Manic Monday again! I think I have said more than once, but I like to be busy and always be doing something; especially at work, as it's what I get paid to do. I find one day of slow work very painful, let alone four weeks.

I felt like I needed to shake the metaphorical spiderwebs from the organisational, time-management part of my brain today and get back in to the swing of things.

I feel invigorated by having things to do, it encourages me to think about my future, ask questions to myself and think more intently about ideas that I may have.

I do have a little something that I am sitting on and would love to start putting in to action, a little or, lets be honest here, a lot of research will be done and I am still jotting ideas down but it is great to feel inspired again and have something to fill my time with.

The Blogger platform and the blogging community as a whole would be a great way to gain some much needed market research, more inspiration and even potentially people to bounce ideas off.

I had a wonderful weekend, we went to Thorpe Park on Sunday with my sister-in-law and niece; we'd never been before so it was great to see the park and go on the rides. I am a thrill-seeker through and through and definitely can't get enough of theme parks.

Did you do anything exciting this week? Seek some thrills like I did?

Duolingo has been hugely neglected recently, so I am going to spend a good hour or so redoing lessons to bring myself back up to speed.

August

August, I am late to your party again, but I do have to admit...you have always been my favourite! You make me think of  warmth, sunshine, wild hair, lions, yellow, orange and gold.

As you know, you host my birthday - right at the beginning, allowing me to enjoy you fully; always starting on a high. Ben shares this day with me now, making the day feel even more special.

I'm unsure if your being favoured by me is purely because my birthday falls in your month or purely because I also have my fondest empresses spent with you. School summer holidays spent with my parents and brother, visiting places all over the UK and Ireland, exploring the never-ending greenness of the Emerald Isle, feeling like we were the only people in the world.

August, you have always been a huge part of my life and will forever remain to be.

Thanks to you, August.

Manic Monday #75

My weekend and day have mostly been taken up with this little beast;

Unfortunately not giving much capacity for thoughts or subject matters. Hopefully the picture makes up for this post being rather lax!

She's going home tomorrow, back to normality. Sadly.

Manic Monday #74

The first Monday of August and my first spent as a 27 year old. Scary stuff! I don't feel that pivotal "change" that we convince ourselves as kids that we can most definitely feel. Time is definitely slipping through my fingers at an incredible speed which is spurring me on to do things with my time.

 Ben and I
 The brother and I
 Friends hula dancing

I had a wonderful weekend of family and friends, our Hawaiian BBQ went down a treat, everyone made such an effort and enjoyed themselves! Unluckily for me I was struck down with a mild migraine (still horrible) and was in a dark, quiet bedroom by 8.30. Typical! But still thoroughly enjoyed the parts I was around for.

Anthony, the best of the best, drove up from London to come to surprise me as well which floored me completely and also supplied an amazing, huge serves-50-people-kinda-big cake from Costco!

I also attended Art in the Park on my actual birthday, which has been hosted in my town for the second year now, there were so many incredible and inspiring artists there! I definitely feel inspired to be creative now.

I have quite an exciting announcement too which I will properly announce when I am fully ready as I didn't want to jinx anything! I shall clarify now that I am not pregnant, it's just a habit now considering my age, gender and boyfriend of 8 years...everyone always asks when I say "Guess what?!" Sigh.

I digress.

I am making headway this evening for the announcement, so hold on to your hats!

I hope you all had a wonderful, sunny weekend!
